Thanks in large part to third baseman Neftalí Rodríguez, the Hakodate Daiouika beat the Niigata Hakuchoh, 7-3. Rodríguez went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. By defeating Niigata, the last-place Daiouika improved to 44-56.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Masamitsu Saito? The Hakodate right fielder had a bases-clearing double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Daiouika on top, 4-1. For the game, Saito had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
