Ávalos Baffles Nipissing Batters
The Brampton Florists did little to support starter Camilo Ávalos against the Nipissing Air Marshals, but it turned out he didn't need the help.

The right-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Air Marshals, striking out 8 and surrendering 4 hits. The performance from Ávalos allowed Brampton to escape with the 1-0 win, despite an anemic offense.

"Nobody came to me and said, 'Camilo, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Ávalos told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."

This season, Ávalos has compiled a 3-5 mark with a 3.44 ERA in 9 starts.
