Aomori Triumphs with Late Surge
Aomori picked up a win at Kamome Ballpark, bumping off the Fukushima Kamome, 3-1. Pitcher Melquíades Nazario was a major reason the Hotaru emerged victorious. Nazario, now 12-9, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 4, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. Atsuhiro Shimabukuro closed the door for Aomori, picking up his 4th save of the year.

Aomori used a timely hit from Kokei Nomura to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Hotaru ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"Melquíades was Melquíades," said Hotaru manager Eliseo Apodaca. "We know what we'll get whenever he takes the mound."

The win puts Aomori at 57-52 this season.
