Hammers Claim Late Win
The Hamilton Hammers picked up a win at Florists Grounds, topping the Brampton Florists, 4-3. On the mound for Hamilton was left-hander Marco Ramírez. He played a principal role in the triumph. Ramírez yielded 3 runs over 8.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 9-13. Picking up his 7th save was 29-year old right-handed pitcher Alexis Pinet.

The result might have been different for Hamilton, had it not been for Virgilio Provencio, the 25-year old left fielder . Provencio stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put Hamilton up, 3-2. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"I thought he pitched pretty well," said Hamilton manager Ricardo Sánchez. "Marco did his part."

At 37-54, the Hammers find themselves in last place in the Ontario Baseball Association Ontario South.
