Big Day for Yamada in 5-4 Megane-ten Win
Hirotaka Yamada was a major contributor to the 5-4 Sabae win over Morioka. The Megane-ten third baseman went 2-2 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. The winner was Sabae reliever Shingo Wakayama, now 4-5. The loser was Shigefumi Usui. The Megane-ten saw their win-loss record go to 54-61. At the same time, the Ayame fell to 58-56.

Sabae got the win thanks to a clutch hit from René Delamare. The catcher stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Megane-ten ahead, 5-4. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it had a major impact on the outcome.

"The key is not trying to do too much," said Yamada.
