Led by Tofeeq Qasim, the Sudbury Meteors defeated the Markham Wheelwrights, 8-2. Qasim was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Meteors. Sudbury, at 60-35, sits in first place in the Ontario Baseball Association Ontario North.

Qasim had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third to put Sudbury in front, 2-0. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run off Markham pitcher Miguel Fragoso.

Qasim said afterward that he was glad to contribute to the win.
