The Pickering Bonebreakers picked up a win at Markham Stadium, topping the Markham Wheelwrights, 6-2. On the mound for Pickering was right-hander Joshua Birchall. He played a principal role in the triumph. Birchall yielded 2 runs over 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 10 hits, walked 4, and struck out 2. His record improves to 6-2. Markham has now lost 4 in a row.

Pickering used a clutch at-bat from Adelmo Gámez to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Bonebreakers ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Gámez told the Pickering Daily News.
