Markham pitcher Matías Jiménez had a large part in his team subduing the Hamilton Hammers, 6-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. The Wheelwrights now have a mark of 47-51.

Sotero Gurrola was vital to the Markham win. He was 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the fourth with two out, Gurrola hit a 2-run single. It made the score 5-1, in favor of the Wheelwrights.

"Enjoyed this one," Gurrola told the Markham Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
