Concord Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in DS
If the Auburn Cordwainers were expecting the pressure of the playoffs to get to Pedro Marrón, they underestimated the old man.

The Concord Stagecoaches got a strong start from the 40-year-old left-hander. Marrón threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball as Concord won the contest, 4-2, at Express Junction to take the lead in their best-of-7 series with the Cordwainers. The Stagecoaches now lead 2-1.

Periandro Rodríguez took Auburn hurler Andrónico Cantú deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the Stagecoaches on top, 4-2. In all, Rodríguez had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"We haven't forgotten how long this series might be, but 2-1 is a heck of a lot better than 1-2," Rodríguez said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Express Junction in Concord.
