Mejía, Rocking Horses Take Dramatic Game 2 for 2-0 Series Lead
Behind the big arm of left-hander Calvino Mejía, the Winchendon Rocking Horses have opened up a healthy early lead in the Division Series. The Rocking Horses topped the Stamford Locksmiths, 4-3, at The Toy Store in Game 2, and now hold a 2-0 edge in the best-of-7 series. Mejía threw 10.0 innings of 7-hit ball to power Winchendon to victory.

In the bottom of the tenth, Homero Méndez had a chance to play the hero. And he did, socking a run-scoring single off Stamford pitcher Luis Melgar.

"Win or lose, the second this season ends, I'm going on vacation," Mejía said in his postgame remarks.

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at The Key Party in Stamford.
