Big Day by Salazar Ignites Wild Pigeons Win
The Kitchener Wild Pigeons beat the Hamilton Hammers, 11-6, at Wild Pigeons Stadium. Belisario Salazar, who is tied for 2nd in the OBA with a .416 on-base percentage, starred for Kitchener. He was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 3 times. Marcos González, the winning pitcher, improved to 10-9. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 10 hits and 6 runs, while striking out 8 and walking 1. Hortensio Garza was called on to finish, recording his 7th save.

Salazar had a big at-bat with the bases empty in the bottom of the first inning, when he hit a solo home run. The Wild Pigeons went on to win.

Kitchener manager Ralph Ham was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.

With the win, the Wild Pigeons hiked their record to 61-50.
