The Thunder Bay Sleeping Giants picked up a win at Thunder Bay Grounds, knocking off the Sault Ste. Marie Rapids, 4-3. Starting pitcher Nicolás Lerma was a big reason why. Thunder Bay, now 63-48, holds down second place in the Ontario Baseball Association Ontario North.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 3rd and one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when left fielder Julián Santillán, who is tied for 4th in the OBA in hits with 130, hit a sacrifice fly. The Sleeping Giants went on to win.

"Nice, tidy little win," Santillán said after the game.
