Jalisco Win Knots Series at 2
|
The Jalisco Jinetes defeated the Monterrey Cerveceros, 4-2, in Game 4 of the Serie Eliminatoria. Doing his part was starter Marco Quiroz, who threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball. The win moves Jalisco into a 2-2 tie with Monterrey in the series.
Quiroz had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth to put Jalisco in front, 2-0. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single off Monterrey pitcher Gabriel Rodríguez.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Quiroz said.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Campo de Guadalajara in Guadalajara.
