Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Hamilton Hammers as starter Zósimo Santiago shut them out, 8-0, at Hamilton Stadium. The Brampton pitcher struck out 3 and walked 8 while allowing 5 hits.

"Santiago was good but he wasn't flawless," Hamilton manager Ricardo Sánchez said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Brampton, but this is on us."

In 30 starts this season, Santiago has notched a 16-13 record and a 3.29 ERA.
