Cranston Takes Pennant Championship Series Game 1, Castillo Stars
The Cranston Madonnas powered past the visiting Winchendon Rocking Horses, 3-1, in the opener of the Pennant Championship Series at Madonna's Niche. Cranston starting pitcher Armando Castillo threw 9.0 innings of 6-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Madonnas now lead the series 1-0.

Castillo, the Cranston right-hander, went 9 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits. He collected 4 strikeouts.

"This team is championship material," Castillo told BNN reporters after the game. "I can see it when I look around the clubhouse. We've still got a long way to go, but I know this team."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Madonna's Niche in Cranston.
