Rocking Horses Take 2-1 Lead with 7-1 Win
When the stakes were high, Rogelio Valdés raised his game to match.

The right-handed Valdés turned in a stellar performance in Game 3 of the Pennant Championship Series, pitching a 9-inning, complete-game shutout to lead the Winchendon Rocking Horses to victory. He allowed 7 hits and struck out 8. The win gave Winchendon a 2-1 lead over the Cranston Madonnas in the best-of-7 series.

Valdés went the distance for Winchendon, allowing 1 run on 7 hits, while striking out 8.

"Coach said he wanted eight innings, so I decided to do him one better," Valdés said later.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Toy Store in Winchendon.
