Florists Handle Hamilton, Snag 4-2 Win
|
The Brampton Florists topped the Hamilton Hammers, 4-2, in Ontario Baseball Association action at Hamilton Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Brampton pitcher Pablo Serrano. Serrano, now 15-9, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. With the win, Brampton upped its record to 62-51.
Adrián Razo, who is tied for 10th in the OBA in stolen bases with 22, had a direct impact on the outcome. Razo contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning to put Brampton up, 2-1.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Brampton manager Tomás Valle.
