The Laval Insulaires got a superb performance from left fielder Fermín Ramírez, but the Thurso Bucherons still won the game, 7-5. Ramírez was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Corey Lang, who leads the LBQ in quality starts with 23, was the winner. He's now 20-8. The loser was Kealan Lee. The third-place Bucherons have won 4 in a row.

The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Luis Jacobo came to bat in the top of the 11th. Facing Laval pitcher Kealan Lee, he hit a 1-1 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Thurso on top, 6-5.

"It all comes down to competing and our guys love to compete," said Bucherons manager Veloso Haldane.
