Joes Even With Smelters After Walk-Off Win
The Saginaw Joes nearly wasted a strong game from starter Carmelo Collazo, but were saved by some timely hitting in a walk-off win over the Marquette Smelters.

Collazo threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball. The win allowed Saginaw to force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 Interleague Series.

The game-ending blow was delivered by Luis Coronado in the bottom of the ninth. That's when he hit a run-scoring double off 33-year old right-handed pitcher Cedro Troche to win it for Saginaw and cause the home crowd to erupt in celebration.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Collazo.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Old Growth Forest in Saginaw.
