Sherbrooke Rallies to 4-1 Win
|
The Sherbrooke Privateers picked up a win at Privateers Grounds, dropping the Thurso Bucherons, 4-1. Luis Fernández, who leads the LBQ in quality starts with 24, was the difference-maker. Fernández, now 20-10, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Sherbrooke now sports a record of 72-49.
The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Silvio Trujillo came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Thurso pitcher Jeremy Zinck, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Sherbrooke on top, 2-1.
In postgame remarks, Trujillo applauded his team's "toughness."
