Starting pitcher Tristán Guerrero gave the Laval Insulaires a rock-solid effort. The San Juan, Puerto Rico native helped his team defeat the Quebec City Dons, 3-2, at Dons Field. The victory makes Laval 39-84.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Wenceslao Columna? The 24-year old second baseman Columna stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Laval up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Quebec City manager Carmelo Nava.
