Ames, Rose Stockings Take Dramatic Game 4 for 3-1 Series Lead
The Mentor Rose Stockings went into extra innings against the Syracuse Halites but ultimately moved to within one game of the Championship of the Great Lakes. The Rose Stockings downed the Halites in a 11-inning walk-off at The Rosebush by a final score of 4-3. Mentor right-hander Red Ames had a commendable performance. He threw 11.0 innings of 10-hit ball. The win gives the Rose Stockings a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Pennant Series.

The decisive blow was delivered by Moose McCormick in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a solo home run off 26-year old right-handed pitcher Juan Rodríguez to win the game for Mentor. The home crowd went nuts.

"Every team in baseball loses," Halites manager Emerson Pye said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Rosebush in Mentor.
