Independientes Will Close Out Campeonato Nacional de Venezuela with One More Win
The Maracaibo Independientes defeated the Puerto La Cruz Timoneles, 6-4, in Game 4 of the Campeonato Nacional de Venezuela. A big contributor was first baseman Giovannino Olmeda, who was 1 for 2 with a triple. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win moves Maracaibo into a 3-1 lead in the series.

Vicente Segovia had a clutch hit in the bottom of the seventh inning. With two men out and a runner on 2nd, the Maracaibo left fielder hit a run-scoring single. That put the Independientes in the lead, 6-4.

Segovia said afterward that "winning, obviously, is the main objective."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Estadio de Maracaibo in Maracaibo.
