Mammoths Pull Out Late-Game Win, 6-5
The Waco Mammoths topped the San Marcos Cadavers, 6-5, in Eastern Association action at Mammoths Field. The standout performance belonged to Waco pitcher and San Juan, Puerto Rico, native Juan Medina. Medina yielded 5 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 10. His record improves to 1-0. The loss drops San Marcos to 1-1.

Timoteo Hernández was the walk-off hero for Waco. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mammoths left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Juan was in control from the top," said Waco manager Guarionex Guzmán.
