The Juncos Chiringas beat the Naguabo Malditos, 6-1, at Parquecito de Juncos. Starting pitcher Hipólito Castañeda was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. With the win, Juncos improves its record to 1-1.

Juncos designated hitter Luis Oliva helped the Chiringas go up, 2-1, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Oliva hit a run-scoring single off Naguabo pitcher Morris Hawthorne.

"Hipólito pounded the strike zone and made good pitches when he needed to," said Juncos manager Rubén Gallardo.
