The inspired effort of Moncton third baseman Abelardo Lugo was not enough to prevent a loss, 10-9, to the Halifax Batteries. Lugo was 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Reliever Yanzhi Wang picked up the win. His record improves to 15-13. Jim Bernard, who leads the LBQ in holds with 1, took the loss. With the win over Moncton, the Batteries improved to 59-69.

Halifax took control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Ludovico García hit a 2-run single to make it 8-6, Batteries.

"What a game," said García. "We needed every last run."
