Starting pitcher Rory Beveridge pitched well enough to help the Vancouver Gas beat the Medicine Hat Hellfire, 4-3. Beveridge yielded 3 runs over 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 9-8. Earning his 5th save for Vancouver was Guadalupe Macías.

Vancouver used a well-timed hit by Ignacio Mandoza to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Gas ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Mandoza told the Vancouver Observer. "But we take nothing for granted."

Vancouver is now 32-37, while Medicine Hat is 21-49.
