The Vancouver Gas topped the Kelowna Grizzlies, 5-3, in Western League action at Gas Field. The standout performance belonged to Vancouver pitcher and San Juan, Puerto Rico, native Juan Cervantes. The loss makes Kelowna 45-48.

Vancouver got a game-changing hit from Guillermo Martínez. The designated hitter blasted a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a winner.

"This wasn't a good win," said Martínez. "It was a great win."
