Pecan Kings Fall to Roaches, 5-2
|
The Nacogdoches Roaches defeated the Tyler Pecan Kings, 5-2, in Eastern Association action at Roaches Park. Nacogdoches pitcher Joseph Scott had a standout performance. Scott yielded 2 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 4, and struck out 7. His record improves to 4-5. Adrien Pometti closed it out for Nacogdoches, earning his 2nd save.
In the top of the ninth, Efraín Trejo stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Pecan Kings were trailing 5-2, but had the bases loaded. That's when Adrien Pometti made a terrific pitch and Trejo flied out. Gone was the dream of a Tyler comeback.
The Roaches, at 18-24, sit in last place in the Eastern Association Galveston Circuit.
