Luling Carves Out 7-4 Win
The Luling Lavender Stockings defeated the San Marcos Cadavers, 7-4, at Lavender Stockings Park. Aristóbulo Aguilar, who is tied for 10th in the EFBA in triples with 2, was a standout performer for Luling. His 3 hits included 2 singles and 1 double -- this in addition to the 1 run he scored and 3 he knocked in. Sebastián Flores was the winner. He's now 6-6. The loser was 19-year old left-handed pitcher Hisami Hayashi. The Lavender Stockings now own a record of 31-18.

Graeme Byford provided some late-game heroics for Luling. In the bottom of the eighth inning, he hit a run-scoring single. It came on a 3-1 fastball from Hisami Hayashi and propelled Luling to a 5-4 lead.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Byford.
