Preachers Rally Late to Nip Yardmen
Preachers fans were treated to an exciting walk-off win.

The Abilene Preachers withstood a good performance by Wichita Falls left fielder Pablo Benavides to knock off Wichita Falls, 8-7, in 18 innings. Benavides went 4 for 8 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The winner in relief was Oliver Minasian. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 4.2 innings. He now owns a record of 5-9.

The Preachers procured the win, in large part because of shortstop Diego Pérez. In the bottom of the 18th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.

"On the outside I was calm," said Preachers manager Mauricio García. "But inside I was a nervous wreck."

This win makes it 5 in a row for Abilene.
