Getting a good performance from third baseman Henning Jacobsen, the Odessa Cowhands defeated the Marfa Ghost Lights, 9-7. Jacobsen went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Cowhands. The Cowhands, at 42-44, sit in third place in the Eastern Association Odessa Circuit.

Jacobsen contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Odessa in the top of the third. With his team trailing 2-1, Jacobsen took a sinker from Esteban Baubia and stroked the double to right. His 10th double of the season allowed the Cowhands to leap in front, 4-2.

"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Jacobsen told the Odessa News.
