Santa Fe pitcher Carlos Caballero had a large part in his team beating the Los Lunas Werewolves, 3-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winner in relief was Daniel Thomson. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. He now owns a record of 4-1. The win makes Santa Fe 47-42.
In the bottom of the second, Mark Mallandain delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 2nd, the Santa Fe third baseman hit a run-scoring single, putting the Hollyhocks in front, 3-2.
Said Santa Fe manager Brad Frauhiger: "They come in every day and work hard. It's nice to see that work pay off."
