López, Preachers Too Much for Yardmen
Laureano López made an impact in the 11-6 Abilene win over Wichita Falls. López went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 5. Bienvenido Martínez earned the win for Abilene. He lasted 6.1 innings, allowing 6 runs on 12 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 10-9. At 45-55, the Preachers claim last place in the Western Association Abilene Circuit.

With Abilene leading 2-0 in the bottom of the second, López hit a curveball from Remigio Vallez for a grand slam home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Preachers ahead, 6-0.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said López.
