Beaumont picked up a win at Alpinists Field, bumping off the Galveston Gulls, 4-3. Pitcher Finney Kelly was a major reason the Alpinists emerged victorious. With this game in the books, Beaumont is 64-48, Galveston 58-55.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Beaumont. That's when Gideon Maxwell hit a run-scoring double off 19-year old right-handed pitcher Bermudo Cannavo to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

Galveston manager Jorge Luna said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
