Mammoths Overcome Great Performance by Felipe in Win
New Braunfels first baseman Pascual Felipe pounded Waco Mammoths pitchers at Mammoths Field, but it was not enough to keep the Yodelers from falling, 9-8. Felipe went 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and 2 doubles. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Waco reliever Ulises Gómez got the win, raising his record to 10-16. Britomaro Díaz was tagged with the loss. At 34-69, the Mammoths claim last place in the Eastern Association San Marcos Circuit.

Waco third baseman Valerio Díaz delivered a run-scoring single in the bottom of the eighth. Overall, he went 4 for 5, picking up 1 home run, 2 singles, and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and knocked in 3.

"Guys always talk about winning games because of the 'little things,'" Díaz told the Waco Chronicle. "Call me old fashioned, but I think baseball is about the big things -- like scoring more runs."
