Lubbock and Wichita Falls got after it at Lubbock Grounds.

Lubbock Layabouts starter Séptimo Salazar pitched his team past the Wichita Falls Yardmen, 5-2. Yogo Ito got credit for the save for Lubbock. It was his 1st of the year.

Lubbock took control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Darío Rodríguez hit a run-scoring single to make it 3-2, Layabouts.

"The vibe's good," said Lubbock manager J.R. Moore. "We've got to keep it going."

The Layabouts raised their record to 70-55.
