Wichita Falls Beats Lubbock in Extra Innings
The Wichita Falls Yardmen relied on a great performance from 29-year old right-handed pitcher Remigio Vallez to beat the Lubbock Layabouts, 3-1, in 13 innings at Lubbock Grounds. The win belonged to Cristóbal Bustillos in relief. His record improves to 7-8. Yogo Ito took the loss for Lubbock. The Yardmen now have a record of 65-61 with the win over Lubbock.

Wichita Falls used the hitting of Gary Lind to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the 13th inning to put the Yardmen on top, 2-1. For the game, Lind had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.

Vallez called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
