In a close game at Odessa Fields, the Odessa Cowhands edged the El Paso Finos, 5-4. Odessa shortstop John Nickerson stood apart with his performance. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jamie Dick recorded the save, his 4th. With the win, Odessa goes to 59-67, while the Finos fall to 53-73.

Burl Forsyth had a big 3-run home run for the Cowhands in the bottom of the third inning. With Odessa leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a slider from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Callum Fraser and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Cowhands on top, 5-1.

Forsyth said afterward that "winning, obviously, is the main objective."
