Horizons Park was host to some intense drama.

Amarillo pitcher Jake Church had a large part in his team beating the Lubbock Layabouts, 3-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The loss makes Lubbock 70-58.

The decisive blow was delivered in the bottom of the 14th when Yohei Rodríguez hit a run-scoring double off 20-year old left-handed pitcher Howard Henderson to win the game for Amarillo. The home crowd went wild.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Church told the Amarillo Bulletin.
