The Santa Fe Hollyhocks could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Hugo Medrano into a win. Instead, the Albuquerque Dukes prevailed, 6-4. Medrano threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. Goliat Luján, the winning pitcher, is now 18-11. He went 8.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 10 hits, while fanning 6 and walking 1. Semónides Cataño recorded his 1st save for Albuquerque.

Albuquerque second baseman Moisés Domínguez contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 102nd hit of the season and put the Dukes ahead, 3-0.

"I felt good up there," said Domínguez. "I saw the ball well."

The second-place Dukes now have a record of 69-51.
