Sammy Strang hit a 2-run triple off Frank Harrison in the bottom of the third, which put the Colonels in front, 3-1. Strang had 2 singles, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 3 for 4.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Cincinnati manager Marshall Locke said, following the tough loss.
