Soneros Show Moxy in 6-5 Win
The Santiago de Cuba-Holguin game took longer to complete because of the rain. But it was worth it for the home team in the end.

The Santiago de Cuba Soneros snuck past the Holguin Pericos, 6-5, in 12 innings. Santiago de Cuba pitcher Luis Núñez, in particular, had a standout performance. The winner was Luis Guzmán in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Meliteo Lugo took the loss.

The Soneros got a clutch hit from center fielder Senén Chávez. In the bottom of the 12th, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Soneros.

"Every game matters," said Santiago de Cuba manager Jorge Sánchez. "I'm really amplifying that message."

The loss makes Holguin 54-50.
