The Holguin Pericos eked out a 12-inning, 3-2 win versus the Guantanamo Cocoteros at Campo de los Cocoteros. Nobody did more than pitcher Rodrigo Padilla. He was terrific. Luis Martínez recorded the save, his 1st. The Pericos win now puts them at 56-50.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the 12th, with the game tied, Jorge Astacio was at the plate when Holguin scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Pericos to go in front, 3-2.

"The want-to is there for our guys," said Guantanamo manager Normando de León. "We'll get this thing turned around."
