Leones Deal Leopardos 2-1 Loss
|
Habana Leones starter Antonio Maldonado found his groove in his team's 2-1 win over the Santa Clara Leopardos. Tristán Ruiz recorded the save, his 15th. Habana sits in third place in the Torneo Occidental La Habana at 54-57.
Emanuel Urías had a big run-scoring double for the Leones in the top of the third inning. With Habana leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a sinker from 29-year old right-handed pitcher Amadís Zavala and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Leones ahead, 2-0.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Urías.
