The Las Tunas Escultores defeated the Holguin Pericos, 13-4. Left Fielder Orlando Dávila deserved a large share of the credit. Dávila went 2-4 with a triple and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4 for the Escultores. With the win, Las Tunas pushed its record to 68-42.

With Las Tunas leading 3-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Dávila batted against Holguin pitcher Scannell Taylor. Dávila hit a sinker to right-center for a 2-run triple. His 4th triple of the season put the Escultores on top, 5-1.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Las Tunas manager Alberto Nevárez.
