The Santa Clara Leopardos pinned a convincing loss on the Nueva Gerona Marmoleros, 12-3, at Estadio de Santa Clara. Induciomaro Girón was a main factor in the win. He went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for Santa Clara. Isma'il Farraj, the winner, improved to 11-11. He held Nueva Gerona to 3 runs on 6 hits over 8 innings, while racking up 8 strikeouts. Santa Clara is second in the Torneo Occidental Matanzas with a record of 61-58.
Luis Campos hit a 2-run double off Arnulfo Muñoz in the bottom of the fifth, which put the Leopardos in front, 5-3. In addition to the double, Campos had 2 singles, while going 3 for 5.
