Sherbrooke Privateers starter Hernán Gutiérrez led his team to victory over the Laval Insulaires, 4-2. The right-hander was locked-in. At 76-56, the Privateers claim second place in the Ligue du Baseball du Quebec Division Ouest.

Sherbrooke used the hitting of Herman Richards to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Privateers on top, 3-0. For the game, Richards had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Sherbrooke manager Humberto Reyes.
