Reds Slap 2-0 Loss on Louisville
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Cincinnati Reds and Louisville Colonels.
In a low-scoring game between the Cincinnati Reds and the Louisville Colonels, pitcher George Mullin was the difference-maker. The Cincinnati right-hander was tough as nails in the 2-0 Reds win. Mullin, now 2-1, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 9, walking 4, and allowing no runs.
The outcome was still in doubt in the top of the ninth inning. With runners on 1st and 3rd and Louisville trailing 2-0, Emmett Bowman needed to get a big out. On a 1-2 curveball, Johnny Lush, who finished 5th in the WL in saves with 1 in 1911, grounded out, putting the kibosh on a potential rally.
Cincinnati sits at 9-3.
