The Kelowna Grizzlies topped the Vancouver Gas, 5-3, in Western League action at Gas Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Kelowna pitcher Poncio Gamero. Vancouver now owns a losing streak of 5 games.

Amado Castañeda had a big 2-run home run for the Grizzlies in the top of the second inning. With Kelowna leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a changeup from Hugo Gallardo and swatted a home run to left. It was his 2nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Grizzlies ahead, 3-0.

"When there are games to be won, you win them," said Kelowna manager Aidan Gordon.
