Jesús María Ibarra did all he could to help his team prevail. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Medicine Hat Hellfire from losing the game, 5-3, to the Calgary Chargers in 10 innings at Hellfire Park. Ibarra was 4 for 4 with 3 doubles. He scored 2 times. Saturnín Juárez, credited with the win, is now 14-9. He allowed 3 runs on 11 hits in 10 innings. Calgary is now 64-47, while Medicine Hat is 38-73.

Calgary used the clutch hitting of Troilo Basulto to snag the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Chargers ahead, 5-3. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a crucial one.

Basulto called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
